<h2>Getting Paid (For STUDENTS)</h2>Everything you need to know about getting paid from GIGs. Once you get accepted to your first GIG, you will be prompted to connect your banking information through the Stripe platform in order to get paid. <h2>⌚ How long does it take to get paid?</h2>Within your GIG Workspace, you will see when you are scheduled to be paid.&nbsp;<figure><img src="https://d3lrqzm3fer3ds.cloudfront.net/blog-media/1/1755883799485.png" alt="unnamed" title="unnamed"></figure>Granted you complete all mandatory tasks and submit all content, that is the day the payment will be released. <h2>Tax Information (For STUDENTS)</h2>Everything you need to know about paying taxes on money you make from GIGs. <h2>📃 Will I get tax forms for working GIGs?</h2>You will receive a 1099-NEC tax form through Stripe if you make more than $600 total on the Home From College platform in a calendar year. Finding candidates to work with is easy on Home From College. You’ve listed your GIG and you’ve received eager candidates. Now you are filtering them based on your specific needs. All that’s left to do is “Accept” them in order to kick off your GIG program.The process of getting your GIG from “Listing” to “Program” is simple. Once you’ve listed your GIG (see How to List a GIG article, for help with this) and is LIVE, applicants will begin to stream in You can view them on the VIEW APPLICANTS page. The first step is checking out their resumes and tagging Top Applicants. You can tag many or a few, it’s entirely up to you. You can also jump straight to messaging candidates, messaging one or many candidates at a time.&nbsp;<figure><img src="https://d3lrqzm3fer3ds.cloudfront.net/temp-files/blog/10/1694406061740.png" alt="VIEW Applicants page" title="VIEW Applicants page"><figcaption>Applicants in the funnel in the View Applicants page.</figcaption></figure>After your first message to a student, a direct message is kicked off between you and each applicant in the Message section. How To: Accept Candidates on 
Home From College 

ALL IN ONE PLACE, all things payments will live in your GIG Portal!Once you’ve accepted your GIG participants, the hardest part is over. When it comes to paying them, all that’s left to do is make sure they are properly set up in your GIG Portal, check payment dates and amounts, and voila! Paying people has never been this easy.H\FC’s Terms of Service require all students sourced through Home From College to be Accepted on the platform. Once a student is Accepted, they will get email and on-platform notifications about payment processing.&nbsp;If your GIG is paid hourly, GIG participants are prompted on their side to submit hours through this portal.&nbsp;If your GIG is paid monthly, the monthly stipend rate is automatically added in your portal to each student in your GIG for any given period.&nbsp; You, as the company, can head to the Monthly Tracking tab, review the submitted hours or monthly stipend, and reject them if needed. If they are not rejected, they are automatically approved and will be processed on the indicated billing date.<figure><img src="https://d3lrqzm3fer3ds.cloudfront.net/blog-media/11/1694407847182.png" alt="Monthly Time Submissions" title="Monthly Time Submissions"><figcaption>Monthly Time Submissions on the GIG Portal</figcaption></figure>Billing date: In the GIG Overview, you will see a billing date associated with your monthly time tracking. This is the date in which all non-rejected time will be charged to your credit card on file. We do not recommend changing your billing dates since your participants expect to be paid for their work on each cycle. Should you need to adjust your billing cycle, head to the Settings tab. For more information about adjusting your billing cycle, head to this article.Rejecting time vs removing a participant: Rejecting time simply rejects a specific time submission, but does not remove your participant from the program. If you need to remove a participant entirely, head to the Participant tab and remove. How To: Pay Participants

Hearing back from companies is not just important, but essential. Home From College is built to offer students transparency and communication. Once you’ve applied to your GIG, you will get email notifications of your application status, every step of the way.Once you’ve applied to a GIG - or many GIGs, you can check your application(s) status on your Dashboard.<figure><img src="https://d3lrqzm3fer3ds.cloudfront.net/blog-media/2/1694376595269.png" alt="dashboard status" title="dashkz"><figcaption>dashboard status</figcaption></figure>What your status means:&nbsp;Every application goes into Review once it is received. This means it’s been received by the company, and they have the ability to review your resume and IQ questions answered in your application.&nbsp;Once a company has reviewed you, they can Top Applicant you. This means they are interested in you and have tagged you on their end. Being Top Applicant-ed does not mean you have been accepted or will be messaged.&nbsp;Once a company is ready to connect with you to discuss next steps, schedule an interview or ask additional questions, they will send you a message through the platform, and your status will changed to Messaged.&nbsp; Finally, when the company is ready to work with you, they will Accept you on the platform. When they’ve done this, you will be notified to sign a contractor agreement. Until you complete the agreement, you will be in the Awaiting Signature status.&nbsp;<figure><img src="https://d3lrqzm3fer3ds.cloudfront.net/blog-media/2/1693874396309.png" alt="Accepted Status GIG Portal" title="Accepted Status GIG Portal"><figcaption>Once you are Accepted to a GIG, you will have access to your GIG Portal.</figcaption></figure>Once you’ve been Accepted and have signed your contractor agreement, your status will move on to Program Begins, and the Open GIG Portal button will become available for you to track time, upload content, and manage your contracts. Email notifications:&nbsp; As a GIG applicant, you will receive notification emails any time your GIG application status changes, as well as when a company messages you.&nbsp; Not accepted:&nbsp;If within 30 days of GIG posting, the company has not messaged or accepted you, you will receive a “Not Accepted” email notification. This way, you will always know where you stand within a 30 day period of applying.&nbsp;Invited:Users can also be Invited to a GIG. This means the recruiting company on H\FC has specifically invited you based on your location, interest, school or any other information associated with your Resume. For more on being Invited, please read our post on Invitations on H\FC. FYI!! Companies may still reach out to you even after the system has sent the “Not Accepted” email.
