How Avatara Partnered with Home From College to lead skincare talk on campus

This winter, Avatara Skincare set out to own the college skincare conversation with a full-funnel approach to awareness, trial, and content creation. From Lip Jellies to Glow Zones, Avatara partnered with Home From College to put products in students’ hands and content on their feeds, right when skincare matters most—midterms, self-care nights, and Sunday resets.
With a campus presence built on sampling street teams, club-led activations, and a roster of diverse creators, the program built real connections, unlocked UGC, and drove new product trial with a Gen Z demo that’s beauty-obsessed but budget-aware.
H\FC deployed a three-pronged approach to engage students across 17 campuses:
👯♀️ Ambassadors & Club Leads – Students acted as on-the-ground brand reps, hosting events, distributing samples, and driving local buzz through clubs like Delta Phi, Her Campus, and Aggie Gems.
📦 Sampling Street Teams – 5 campuses had 1 rep each spreading product via bathroom takeovers, dorm drop-offs, and chapter shoutouts—creating visibility during high-traffic moments.
📱 Content Creators – 10 creators, including micro and macro influencers, posted evergreen beauty content, optimized for owned and paid use, aligned with moments like finals week resets and skincare routines abroad.
✅ 2,500+ products sampled
✅ 25 micro activations + 4 large-scale club events
✅ 60 creator content pieces generated
✅ 475 organic UGC posts from ambassadors and event attendees
✅ 3.4M impressions across platforms
✅ 5.4% average engagement rate
🎯 Highlight: At the "Lips & Lattes" event with Her Campus Alabama, students lined up for fruit-themed drinks and a chance to try the latest Lip Jelly—showcasing how an intentional brand moment can drive both trial and TikTok-worthy content.
💬 Event Concepts That Sparked Joy
From spa-themed study nights to "Glow & Scrap" vision board parties, ambassadors pitched events that delivered memorable product moments and organic brand storytelling.
🌈 Flexible Creator Briefs Paid Off
Avatara’s creators delivered strong content performance by pairing creative freedom with trend alignment—think GRWMs, skincare shelfies, and self-care resets.
💄 Product Variety = Higher Engagement
Students were excited to sample multiple flavors and formats of the Lip Jellies, which created more opportunities to share, post, and spark conversation.
📸 Everyday Visibility Built Buzz
Placing Lip Jellies in high-traffic locations like sorority house bathrooms, dorm lounges, and club meetings made the brand feel ever-present and part of students’ daily routines.
The Avatara x H\FC Winter '25 program turned curiosity into conversion and made Lip Jellies a college campus staple. From creative events and content to strategic product seeding, Avatara showed up—and stood out—in all the right ways.
