I’ve attended games of various different sports teams on campus. A glaring observation I’ve made since I arrived at BC is the lack of support for women’s sports, both by the students and the administration. The marketing and general energy surrounding the womens’ teams, even if they are national champions (like our women’s lacrosse team has been), is consistently less than that around the men’s teams. It is something I’ve worked to change in my role with Campus Activities, where I have worked with Athletics to host a women’s lacrosse tailgate event, which brought hundreds of attendees to the women’s game.
