Sales Intern for High Quality Merch Brand

Tell us about your experience in sales, and why you want to work for our brand to help us grow!
My sales experience comes from running my own venture, Manuki Events, where I hosted multiple events with large turnouts, including the business idea competition with over 150 participants. Getting those numbers meant leading a team to engage potential attendees across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, answering questions, building interest, and converting that into confirmed sign-ups. Alongside this, I’ve built and grown content brands, including videography work that reached over a million views, so I understand how to position something so people actually want to buy in. I want to work for your brand because I’m drawn to merch and brand-building, and I know what it takes to grow something from the ground up. I’d bring real hands-on selling experience, a content and marketing skill set, and the drive of someone who’s used to making things happen rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Describe a time you successfully followed up to close a sale.
While being a high school student, I hosted multiple events with large turnouts, the biggest being a business idea competition with over 150 participants. To get there, I led a team that engaged with potential attendees across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. We’d reach out, answer questions, and stay in consistent contact so interested people didn’t drop off before committing. Coordinating that follow-up across multiple channels is what converted initial interest into confirmed sign-ups and pushed the summit past 150 attendees. It showed me that closing comes down to organized, persistent engagement, and making sure no interested person slips through the cracks.

How would you convince a client to choose our merch brand over competitors?
I’d convince the client by showing them what they actually get with Couture by Ikigai. Larger competitors treat each order as one of thousands, so it’s easy to become a number in their system. For us, every order matters because it directly shapes our reputation, which means more attention to detail, tighter quality control, and a team that’s genuinely invested in getting it right. We bring the same craftsmanship the big brands are known for, but with the responsiveness, flexibility, and personal service that only a focused brand can offer. When you work with us, you’re not just placing an order, you’re getting a partner who treats your project as if our name depends on it, because it does.
