Do you have experience working with Consumer Brands for TikTok and Instagram? If so, can you share your role, the biggest lesson you learned, and what you would do differently?
While I haven’t directly worked with consumer brands for TikTok and Instagram, I believe my perspective as a consumer is a valuable asset. As someone who naturally engages with pet content, I know what grabs attention and resonates with this audience because I’m part of it. Whether it’s relatable humor, useful tips, or aesthetically pleasing visuals, I understand what keeps people scrolling and what prompts them to engage. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from this approach is the importance of empathy—putting myself in the audience's shoes to create content that feels authentic and tailored to their interests. If I were to do anything differently, it would be to experiment with even more audience interaction, like polls, Q&A sessions, or spotlighting user-generated content to strengthen the community connection.

Can you describe a time when you successfully engaged with an online audience through social media?
One of my favorite examples is managing the TikTok accounts for All Things Go and Amplify Her Voice. For Amplify Her Voice, I grew the account from 200 to over 4,000 followers by creating relatable and engaging content that resonated with our audience of women in music. I experimented with trending sounds, creative storytelling, and educational posts to build a loyal community. For All Things Go, I focus on blending festival culture with engaging, short-form content. I’ve successfully increased engagement by leveraging trending audio, capturing behind-the-scenes moments, and interacting with fans in the comments, making the brand feel approachable and fun. These experiences have taught me the power of authenticity and creative consistency in connecting with audiences.

How do you stay updated on the latest trends in the pet industry to create relevant content? -- Do you have a dog?
I stay on top of trends in the pet industry by blending social media exploration with good old-fashioned curiosity. I spend time scrolling through TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest, especially in the pet niche, keeping an eye on trending hashtags, viral sounds, and the latest product buzz. Staying connected with communities of pet parents adds a personal touch, as they often share real-life experiences and ideas that spark fresh content concepts.
