Walk me through an automated email or DM flow you have built from scratch. What platform did you use and what did it trigger off of?
“I recently built an automated abandoned cart email flow using Klaviyo for a Shopify store.
The flow was triggered when a user added products to the cart but didn’t complete the purchase within 1 hour. Once triggered, the automation followed a structured sequence:
Email 1 (after 1 hour): A reminder with product image and a clear CTA
Email 2 (after 12–24 hours): Highlighting benefits, reviews, and social proof
Email 3 (after 48 hours): A limited-time discount to create urgency
I also added dynamic product blocks so each email showed the exact items the customer left in their cart.
Additionally, I used segmentation to exclude users who had already purchased and optimized send times using AI-based insights. This flow significantly improved recovery rate and overall conversion.
The key focus was personalization, timing, and creating urgency without being spammy.”

Which tools do you prefer for automating email campaigns and why?
“I prefer tools like Klaviyo, Omnisend, and Mailchimp depending on the project requirements.
For Shopify stores, my first choice is Klaviyo because it offers deep integration with Shopify, advanced segmentation, and AI-driven automation. It allows me to create highly personalized flows like abandoned cart, browse abandonment, and post-purchase sequences that directly increase revenue.
I use Omnisend when I want a multi-channel approach, as it combines email, SMS, and push notifications in one platform, making automation more efficient.
For simpler or budget-friendly projects, I use Mailchimp because it’s easy to set up and works well for basic automation and newsletters.
Overall, I choose tools based on scalability, automation depth, and how well they integrate with the customer journey.”
