Can you describe a time you created engaging content on TikTok or Instagram?
Over the past year, I've been consistently creating content (though I’ve been at it for a bit longer, just with less frequency), and one thing I’ve learned is that you can win or lose your target audience in a split second. This is why having a strong hook is crucial, it grabs attention immediately, and the rest of the content, which often follows a predictable formula, caters to our brief attention spans.
A great example of this was a thrift store review I created that went viral, racking up over 264K views and 1,165 new followers. The key to its success? The hook: "Why is no one talking about this thrift store in Long Island?" It was a perfect hook, immediately sparking curiosity. People don’t like feeling left out of the loop, and tapping into that FOMO (fear of missing out) is a highly effective strategy on social media.

How do you stay up-to-date with social media trends?
The best way I stay up-to-date with social media trends is being a thoughtful consumer which allows me to be a better producer. As a content creator, I actively engage, save, and study trends to be able to utilize and create trends for the future.
In addition I use tools like creator search insights on tik tok, to be able to spot trending topics, suggested topics of conversation, and content gaps.
