Interview Questions

MAGICSHOT

Short-Form Video Creator for MagicShot AI

How would you showcase MagicShot’s AI features in a 15-second clip?

I'd open with a relatable 'before' moment — a boring or ordinary photo sitting in your camera roll. Then one tap, and the transformation happens on screen in real time, with a satisfying sound effect synced to the change. The 'after' result fills the frame in the last few seconds with no explanation needed — just the visual doing the work. The whole concept is 'show don't tell' — let the AI speak for itself.

What makes a short-form video engaging to you?

The first second is everything — if you don't stop the scroll immediately, nothing else matters. After the hook, what keeps me watching is a clear sense of tension or curiosity, the feeling that something is about to happen or be revealed. Pacing is huge too — tight cuts, no dead air, and sound design that guides attention without being overwhelming. The best short-form videos feel effortless but are actually very deliberate in every choice.

What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?

I think Duolingo has set the bar for brand content recently — they've completely leaned into unhinged, character-driven humor that feels native to TikTok rather than like a brand trying too hard. On the creator side, I'm drawn to creators who build tension through pacing and silence rather than constant cuts and effects. The ones who understand that restraint is an editing choice too are the ones whose content actually stops the scroll.
