How do you prioritize and manage your outreach efforts?
organizing leads based on how well they match the ideal customer profile and how likely they are to convert. I typically segment them by factors like industry, company size, engagement level, or how they’ve interacted with previous content. I use tools like spreadsheets or basic CRM platforms (like HubSpot or Notion) to track where each lead is in the process and set reminders for follow-ups. I focus first on warm leads or those with higher potential, then schedule time blocks during the week to reach out to colder leads or do prospecting. By staying consistent with tracking and time management, I make sure my outreach stays focused, personalized, and efficient.Get smarter responses, upload files and images, and more.

What strategies do you use to qualify a lead?
As a college student who's been learning both in the classroom and through hands-on experiences like internships and student organizations, I use a few key strategies to qualify leads effectively—even in remote settings:Research FirstBefore I reach out to a lead, I do a quick background check. I’ll look at their company website, LinkedIn profile, and any recent news or blog posts to understand who they are, what they do, and if they might actually benefit from the product or service I'm representing. This helps avoid wasting time on poor-fit leads.Use the BANT Framework (or similar)I try to figure out if the lead has:Budget: Can they afford the solution?Authority: Are they the decision-maker?Need: Do they have a clear problem our solution can solve?Timeline: Are they ready to move forward soon or just exploring?Even if I’m not in a formal sales role, I still keep these in mind during conversations or cold outreach.Ask the Right QuestionsWhen I do get a chance to talk to a lead (through email, LinkedIn, or Zoom), I focus on open-ended questions. For example, I might ask:“What challenges are you currently facing in [area related to the product]?”or“How are you currently handling [specific task or process]?”That way, I can figure out whether our product or service is a good fit.Track and Score LeadsIn some of my internships and class projects, I’ve used CRM tools like HubSpot and basic spreadsheets to score leads based on their responses and behaviors. If they engage with content, ask detailed questions, or request demos, they score higher.Follow-Up and ReassessSometimes a lead isn’t ready right now—but that doesn’t mean they’re a no forever. I make sure to follow up at the right time or check in periodically, especially if they showed interest earlier.
