Share a time that you helped someone over the age of 60 that you're not related to.
At the volunteer english mentoring, I had the pleasure to have a 67 year old lady who's name is Socorro as one of my mentees. She was super tuned in, but during her life, she was forced to postpone her dream of learning English. Through his granddaughter, who was also my student, he found out about me and my classes. When she started studying, she could not keep up with the lessons as the other mentees, and I noticed her struggle and went to talk to her. She ended up confessing to me that she felt behind because she was one of the only mature people in the class.
The only thing she needed was a little special attention and time to assimilate the content than others. Classes were remote via the Zoom platform, and I came up with the idea of creating a fixed schedule so that I could help her 1:1 for a few hours every week. And so it was done, Mrs Socorro improved significantly in English and she and her family thanked me greatly. This is one of the reasons why I say this volunteering program was so rewarding to me, just as I believe it was also important for the people I impacted throughout this wonderful project.

I sure do. When I was an English mentor, I had students of the most varied ages and I can say that it is magical to have contact with the voices of experience. Also, I am a very patient person, which is a important skill to this position.
