PLEASE SHARE A stem TOPIC that YOU'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND HOW YOU WOULD INCORPORATE IT INTO YOUR CONTENT.
One STEM topic I’m especially passionate about is artificial intelligence and how it’s transforming everyday life and careers. AI is becoming part of so many industries, from healthcare and education to social media and creative tools, yet a lot of young people still feel like it’s something only engineers or advanced programmers can work with. I think there’s a big opportunity to make it feel more approachable and exciting for young women and non-binary students who may not realize how many career paths exist within tech. For content, I would focus on creating short, engaging videos that connect AI to things people already use in their daily lives. For example, a video could start with a hook like “You’re probably using AI every single day without realizing it,” and then quickly show examples such as recommendation algorithms on streaming apps, voice assistants, or AI tools used for creativity and productivity. From there, I would introduce different roles behind those technologies, like data scientists, UX designers, or AI researchers, to show that there are many ways to be involved in the field.I would also create encouraging and relatable content that highlights women and non-binary leaders in STEM. For instance, short “Did you know?” style videos featuring innovators in tech or explaining what a day in the life of someone in a specific STEM role might look like. This type of content helps normalize the idea of seeing yourself in those careers.Overall, my goal would be to make STEM topics feel accessible, inspiring, and relevant. By breaking down complex ideas into engaging, social-first content and tying them to real career opportunities, the videos could help young women and non-binary students see that there is a place for them in technology.
