How do you approach maintaining brand consistency in your designs?
I approach brand consistency by first fully understanding the brand’s identity before designing anything. That includes studying the brand’s mission, target audience, tone, color palette, and overall personality. This foundation allows me to make thoughtful creative choices rather than purely aesthetic ones.
To me, consistency is not about repeating the same visuals across platforms. It is about maintaining alignment with the brand’s core values and message. I believe creativity should evolve and adapt, but it should always remain recognizable and cohesive to the audience.

What experience do you have creating social media graphics? Please be specific (portfolio link, link to graphics, etc.)
I have experience creating social media graphics through my role as Head of Marketing and Social Media Coordinator for Zealous Magazine, a student-led editorial publication at the University of Iowa. I design graphics primarily using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, and I focus on maintaining a cohesive brand identity across Instagram, TikTok, and promotional materials. For our most recent issue launch, I developed a cohesive content calendar and visual theme that aligned with the issue concept. I am most proud of the TikTok campaign I designed and helped execute that reached over 1.4 million views, significantly increasing engagement and follower growth. I also create vision boards for our team to ensure visual consistency across posts and stories.
