Interview Questions
JOVA
Business Development Intern (Health Food Startup)

How do you usually keep track of tasks, follow-ups, or deadlines when things are moving fast?
When things are moving quickly, I rely on a mix of tools to stay organized. I use Google Calendar to keep track of deadlines and set reminders, and I make use of a to-do list app like Todoist to break down tasks and prioritize them. I also keep a physical notebook to jot down quick notes or things I need to follow up on during the day. This combination helps me stay on top of everything and ensures I don’t miss anything important. I also make sure to check in regularly with teammates or supervisors if things change, so I can adjust my priorities and stay aligned with the team.

Tell us about a time you helped something run more smoothly, or solved a problem on your own.
While working at Aeropostale, I noticed that long checkout lines during peak hours were slowing down operations and impacting the customer experience. I took the initiative to propose a solution by suggesting we stagger break times for cashiers and train additional team members to assist with non register tasks, like returns or inventory checks. This change helped maintain a steady flow at the registers and reduced wait times, ultimately enhancing both the customer experience and the overall efficiency of the store.

I'm excited about this role because it offers the chance to work closely with the founder and make a real impact in expanding JOVA’s retail and eComm presence.
