in what scenarios do you listen to music?
For me, music isn't just something I listen to; it's like the oxygen I breathe, a non-negotiable part of my existence that I genuinely need every ten minutes. I don't really stick to specific scenarios or times for it because it's just always there. I'm constantly discovering new tracks while still reveling in old favorites, driven by this insatiable hunger to explore the vast musical landscape out there. There's just so much to find, you know?
My Daily Soundtrack
With my schedule, though, there are definitely times when music is an absolute given. You'll catch me with my headphones on on the way to college and on the way back. It's my go-to whether I'm doing coursework, hitting the books for studying, or deep in a new learning phase. Even mundane things like eating or just walking are accompanied by a beat. And honestly, even when I'm doing nothing at all or multitasking like crazy, music's always in the background. Genre-wise, I'm pretty open – classical or brand new stuff, it all works. But generally, I prefer songs with lyrics over instrumentals; they just hit differently.

Describe the way your favorite song makes your feel in two or more sentences.
The way "Style" by Taylor Swift makes me feel is a vibrant rush of youthful nostalgia, like being transported back to carefree teenage days filled with the thrill of young love and endless summer skies. The intricate build-up and shimmering production of the song hit a specific dopamine sweet spot, evoking a powerful sense of cinematic romance and an almost palpable feeling of a bright blue, expansive world with a harp playing in the background.
Complementing this, Billie Eilish's music, though different in tone, touches a uniquely profound part of my emotional landscape. Her strategic use of ad-libs, those subtle vocal flourishes beneath the main melody, creates a raw, honest, and deeply personal connection. For songs like "Birds of a Feather," and "What Was I Made For," these seemingly small vocal additions validate feelings of vulnerability and depression, making me feel seen and understood in a way that is incredibly cathartic.

Do you play or study music? if so, elaborate.
I don't play music myself, but I absolutely study it in a very deep and personal way. As someone aspiring to be a lyricist, my listening is highly focused. I immerse myself in the flow of the melody, always paying close attention to where the lyrics are leading and the story or emotion they're conveying.
I also critically analyze the components of how music is written, especially the lyrics. I'm fascinated by what makes a song truly connect with people – those hooks and powerful moments that grab attention. I observe how these elements resonate differently across various genres, cultures, and with different listeners. Music is a profound passion for me; I feel like I'm nothing without it.
