How do you usually keep track of tasks, follow-ups, or deadlines when things are moving fast?

When things are moving fast, I like to take some time out of my day to write down a to-do list of what I need to do. I normally use a planner or an online platform like Notion.

Tell us about a time you helped something run more smoothly, or solved a problem on your own.

During online school, I reluctantly joined the Academic League team to combat my boredom, seek social interaction, and hone my intellectual acumen. As one of two 9th-graders on the Junior Varsity Team, I felt out of place, but I successfully worked with the upperclassmen to win the county title. For the last four years, the Thursday afternoons from December to February have been the highlight of my week: an opportunity to make and build upon connections with my teachers and peers and challenge myself as a team member. Upon returning to school in person, I actively recruited new members, prioritizing team spirit over prestige. Last year, I helped establish some traditions around post-competition team-building, which always included snacks (pizza, mostly, but sometimes ice cream!), and further burnished my reputation as an expert in world news and state nicknames. I embraced my leadership position during my senior year when I was chosen as the captain of the Varsity Team. Academic League has embellished my skills of cooperation, my joys of camaraderie, and my talents as a leader. As the season progresses, I hope to continue to leave a lasting legacy on my younger peers and create a fun, memorable, and stimulating experience for all.
