In a given week, your responsibilities range from updating financial models, to scheduling with external partners, to tracking inventory movement, to prepping decks for a marketing meeting. How do you prioritize and execute when everything is urgent?

When everything feels urgent, I start by assessing which tasks are most time-sensitive or have the greatest impact, then I break them into manageable steps and set clear deadlines. I use a digital task manager to stay organized, communicate early with team members to clarify expectations, and block focused time for deep work—ensuring I stay efficient while remaining flexible for shifting priorities.

Tell us about a time when maintaining accurate data was crucial to your role. How did you ensure the data stayed clean, up to date, and aligned across systems or teams?

As the finance officer for the Korean Student Association (KSA), I was responsible for tracking our event budgets, reimbursements, and funding requests. To maintain accurate data, I created a shared Google Sheets ledger with locked formulas to prevent accidental edits, regularly cross-checked receipts and expense reports, and coordinated closely with our treasurer and student government to ensure all records were consistent and up to date across platforms.

Walk us through a time when you built or managed a complex spreadsheet system to track operational or financial data.

During my accounting class at Davidson, I built a multi-sheet Excel model to track and analyze monthly expenses and revenue for a simulated small business. The system included categorized expense tracking, automated income statements, and visual dashboards using pivot tables and formulas like VLOOKUP and IF statements, helping me practice organizing real-world financial data clearly and accurately.
