Interview Questions
Inner Journey: Mental Clarity
Campus Brand Ambassador

What are you involved with on campus that would be relevant to this position?
On campus, I’m involved in organizations that focus on mental health, service, and supporting others. I’m active in the Social Work Club and the Psychology Student Coalition, which have helped me better understand mental health from both academic and peer-support perspectives. I also consistently volunteer at the Jamil Niner Student Pantry and participate in campus cleanups, where I’ve seen firsthand how basic needs and mental well-being are deeply connected. Additionally, I serve on the executive board for the UNCC chapter of Machiah’s House and am involved with an organization that supports kids aging out of the foster care system. These experiences have strengthened my empathy, communication skills, and passion for advocating for mental health and community support.

Have you ever struggled to communicate something important to someone close to you?
Yes, definitely. I’ve had moments where I knew something was important to say but struggled to find the right words, especially when emotions were involved or I didn’t want to hurt someone I care about. Those experiences taught me how powerful clear, compassionate communication is and how hard it can be without the right tools which is why mental health focused work and creating space for honest conversations matters so much to me.

Why are you interested in working with Inner Journey?
I’m really drawn to Inner Journey because mental health is something I genuinely care about, both personally and academically. As a psychology and social work major, I’m constantly learning about how deeply mental health impacts people’s lives, and it’s pushed me to want to be part of work that actually supports people in real, meaningful ways. Inner Journey’s focus on growth, healing, and mental clarity really resonates with me, and I’d love the chance to contribute to something that aligns so closely with my passions and what I hope to do long-term.
