In some of my classes, we have used social media to learn how to build a brand and how much work is put into it to create the brand. I have also used social media in my personal life to see what my friends are up to and to share experiences with them. Success in a social media management role can be determined by a number of variables, based on the particular goals and objectives of the company or person being represented. Some examples would be like increasing brand visibility and recognition, growing the number of followers or subscribers across social media platforms, acting as a driver of website traffic and conversions, and being linked to achieving the organization's overall business objectives.
