How do you ensure your video content stays engaging and on-trend?

I stay current by actively studying platform trends daily monitoring trending audios, editing styles, storytelling formats, creator strategies, and shifts in audience behavior across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

I also follow marketing and social media trend resources to stay ahead of what’s emerging.

When creating content, I focus on combining trends with strategy. I don’t just replicate what’s popular, I adapt trends in a way that feels authentic to the brand and relevant to the target audience.

To keep videos engaging, I prioritize:

Strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds to stop the scroll

Fast pacing and clean edits to maintain retention

Storytelling that creates curiosity or emotion

Clear value (education, entertainment, humor, relatability, inspiration)

Testing and optimizing based on performance data

The goal is to make content that feels current, but also intentional and memorable.

What platforms are you most experienced creating short-form videos for?

I’m most experienced creating short form content for Instagram and TikTok, where I’ve developed videos designed to capture attention quickly, retain viewers, and drive engagement.

I understand the nuances of both platforms, from trending formats and hooks to audience behavior and editing styles.

I also have experience adapting content across multiple channels depending on the campaign goals, including YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and email marketing content.

I understand that each platform requires a slightly different approach, whether that’s entertainment focused storytelling, professional brand messaging, or conversion driven content.

My strength is knowing how to tailor content so it feels native to each platform while still maintaining a consistent brand voice.

How do you think about the difference between content that builds a brand vs. content that drives a purchase?

I think both are essential, but they serve different purposes.

Brand building content creates emotional connection, identity, and trust over time. It communicates who the brand is, what it stands for, and why people should care. This includes storytelling, lifestyle content, community moments, founder story, humor, values, and aspirational messaging. It’s what makes someone remember the brand.

Purchase driving content is more conversion focused. It answers objections and motivates immediate action. This includes product demos, before/after results, testimonials, comparisons, offers, problem/solution content, and clear CTA (call to action). It’s what makes someone buy now.

The strongest brands know how to balance both. Brand content creates demand, while conversion content captures it. My approach would be using a mix of both so Sousa not only gains customers, but also builds long term loyalty and recognition. Sousa's branding is fun and playful I would also use that in our advantage.
