My most recent social media management experience has been for the Dartmouth College Athletics Department. I defined success by gauging whether or not my friends were talking about or sharing those posts since the Dartmouth Sports account was already well established. When I worked for 6AM Health, I defined success in my social media strategy as increasing engagement and following.
