Design Uber's Back to School Campaign
what school traditions or campus landmarks can you bring into your campaign?
Syracuse University is home to many unique traditions and campus landmarks that will help us set our campaign apart and give our pitch an innovative spin. On campus, we have the “Kissing Bench,” a gift from the class of 1912. This bench holds a legend that says that kissing on the bench leads to marriage. However, some say that if you sit alone on the bench, you will be alone for life. This bench is a prominent spot located on the quad of campus, so we could tie in this spot as a “home base” or “pickup location” in our pitch. Additionally, sledding on Crouse Hill outside of the Crouse Clocktower building is a tradition that brings students together. With a school such as Syracuse in such a cold climate, sledding on the hill is a way to unite students and create shared joy for getting through the harsh winter together. Uber perfectly ties into this as a new method for travel in the cold winters. Next, we have “South Campus,” which is a separate living campus for students, a bus ride away from campus. The idea of taking a bus to class can hinder student experience, so we can promote Uber and its Uber One service, catering to these nearly 3,000 students. Finally, the game day experience for Football during the back-to-school season draws in lots of excitement and traditions for the weekend. The majority of the student population engages during game day in one way or another, whether it is for the experience of the actual sport or just the environment.
