What's three important aspects you consider when adopting a new social app into your daily screen time?
1. User experience and interface: is the app easy to navigate? Is it simple enough but entertaining at the same time? ease of use? room for personalization or adjusting settings to my liking?
2. Value: is the content available adding any value to my life, or is my feed relevant or tailored to my liking? Ex.) pinterest gives users the option to view more "pins" that are similar to users existing "boards" they've created. If i create a board with high heeled shoes, Pinterest will suggest more pins of high heeled shoes similar to ones i've added to my board. This is useful as i've shown an interest in high heeled shoes.
3. Privacy and Security: It's a given that we have to share some data with social media sites, but it can become too much. Tiktok has been under observation and a class action lawsuit for harvesting users data, great example of a lack of privacy and security. Twitter's two-factor authentication feature is no longer available to all users, instead it's only limited to users with paid twitter subscriptions. Instances like these can decrease user satisfaction.
