Product Development Intern

What products do you think are disrupting beauty?
From what I’ve seen as a consumer, formats like pimple/skin patches, hybrid skincare-makeup (such as tint and treatment in one), and refillable, low-waste packaging are really disrupting beauty. They make routines more targeted, fun and sustainable instead of just adding more steps. I’m also excited by barrier-focused skincare which shifts the focus to long-term skin health and sustainability.

Product Development Intern

Do you have previous product development, Research & Development or internships in beauty before? If so, please list.
While I do not have direct experience in the beauty industry yet, I gained relevant R&D experience during my internship at Nestlé R&D in Singapore. Working in Open Innovation, I helped scout and evaluate new product concepts and startups, analyzing their scientific claims and feasibility to support the development team. My background is in Bioengineering, so I am comfortable analyzing materials and ingredients, and I am eager to apply those technical research skills to the fast-paced world of beauty product development.

Music Taste Tester (November - December)

How do you approach identifying potential issues with a product during testing?
I usually start by acting like I am a curious, slightly skeptical user. First I go through the intended flow to see whether it works smoothly, then I deliberately push the edges like trying out unusual combinations, fast switching between features, or anything that feels slightly unintuitive. While I’m testing, I take structured notes on what I notice , what feels confusing, what breaks and where my attention drifts
