What's an editing style you think is overused?
I think one editing style that’s becoming overused is constant rapid cutting and extremely short clips. While I understand that fast-paced editing is often used to retain attention on social media, I sometimes feel it can become overwhelming and take away from the overall viewing experience. When every moment is cut quickly, it can reduce the emotional impact of a scene and make content feel less intentional or polished. I think strong editing should still allow moments to breathe and give audiences time to connect with the story, visuals, or emotions being presented.

What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?
I’ve really been loving the content from Dreamworld Girl Zine lately. I think their Y2K-inspired visual style is incredibly fun, creative, and engaging. What stands out to me is how they mix different forms of content together, from short-form videos showcasing outfits and makeup inspired by different characters, to mixed media visuals, editorial-style photography, artwork, and written pieces discussing themes surrounding girlhood and identity. I think their content works so well because it feels visually cohesive while still being playful and experimental. They do a great job of blending aesthetics, storytelling, and cultural commentary in a way that feels authentic to their audience.

What are your go-to editing techniques to make a video more engaging?
My go-to editing technique for making videos more engaging is incorporating mixed media elements, such as layered graphics, colour overlays, and handwritten-style typography. I love the scrapbook feel, experimenting with different visual elements and textures to make content feel more dynamic and visually interesting.
