1. Impact on my current social media use: I would make sure that it is relevant to me e.g. My peers are using the app, or it is a requirement for work. 2. How it encroaches on my private life, for example I don’t use BeReal as it requires me to take a photo at random times of the day. I prefer having a certain degree of control surrounding my social media content choices. 3. Advertising/forced engagements. For example, a big reason I stopped using Snapchat was how they queued random celebrities while I was scrolling through my friends stories. I am not a fan of seeing people I do not know on my feed without my consent. Conversely, I am fine with advertising on Instagram stories because they are brands that pique my interest. The same with Instagram and YouTube reels, interacting with those are my voluntary choice and thus I am happy with that.
