How do you usually keep track of tasks, follow-ups, or deadlines when things are moving fast?

As a college athlete, I’ve had to balance practices, games, classes, and assignments—so staying organized is a must. I usually keep track of tasks and deadlines using a combination of my phone calendar and a simple to-do list app. I set reminders for important deadlines and break big tasks into smaller steps so I don’t get overwhelmed. When things move fast, I check my schedule each night to plan for the next day, and I always leave room for unexpected changes. Whether it’s academics or athletics, I’ve learned that staying ahead with good time management helps me keep calm and stay on track.

Tell us about a time you helped something run more smoothly, or solved a problem on your own.

During my time playing college basketball, there was a point in the season when our practices and class schedules started clashing, and it became really hard for the team to stay on the same page—especially with game film reviews and team meetings. I noticed a lot of confusion and missed information, so I took the initiative to create a shared group calendar and suggested we use a team group chat more actively for reminders and quick updates. I started posting weekly practice and film times, travel details, and even reminders about assignments or academic check-ins. It wasn’t a huge thing, but it helped us stay more organized and reduced stress for everyone. Coaches appreciated the extra communication, and teammates felt more prepared both on and off the court. It taught me that taking small steps to improve communication can have a big impact on team performance.
