Can you share an example of a design that significantly improved a product's user experience?

During my UX/UI fellowship, my team redesigned the Rutgers 90.3 the Core website because it was visually unappealing and difficult to navigate. I introduced a card-based layout that separated different radio channels based on their topics and music genres. I also made the application inviting to users through its design. After testing, the users found the application easier to navigate and visually aesthetic.

How do you approach balancing creativity with user functionality in design?

I always start with assessing and researching user needs and expectations. While design draws users to an application, functionality is the top priority. Once I see how users interact with the platform and confirm that it meets standards, I add creativity to enhance the look and make the experience more engaging.
