Describe a time when you encountered a diversity or inclusion challenge related to natural hair or beauty standards on campus. How did you address it, and what was the outcome?
I attend a historically black college, where we are encouraged to embrace our natural beauty. However, because I always wear wigs and have been told that my natural hair is nippy or not well-kept, I feel as though a new chapter in my life needs to be opened. This semester, I joined a club to embrace my natural beauty, and I hope to encourage other black queens on my campus to do the same.
