n my previous role as a nanny, I worked with a 7-year-old who struggled with severe separation anxiety and was resistant to tutoring, particularly in English. Recognizing that traditional methods weren’t engaging him, I incorporated storytelling, games, and interactive activities tailored to his interests; which made learning feel more like play than a chore. I also established a consistent, comforting routine to ease his anxiety and build trust. Over time, his confidence grew, and by the end of our year together, he was not only engaged but eagerly asking to read. His transformation strengthened my relationship with him and his parents, who saw firsthand the impact of a personalized, patient approach.
