Describe the way your favorite song makes your feel
One of my favorite songs is “A Dholaidh (To Ruin)” by Langley Cerovich. It’s sung in both English and Irish, which makes it feel especially meaningful to me. My family is from Ireland, and my late grandmother immigrated to the U.S. with her siblings. They helped raise me, and I grew up surrounded by their stories, their songs in Irish, and dancing in homes that were always full—of laughter, music, and love. Those memories shaped who I am. Now that they’ve all passed, this song brings them back to life for a few minutes. It makes me feel close to them again, wrapped in the warmth, strength, and joy they poured into me.
