When I was working as a BDC Representative I had a customer who wanted a specific car that we unfortunately did not have available as the car was already sold. This customer was already on the way to the dealership to look at the car so I had to see if there was anything else available for them to look at. I found the same model car but a different color that had just gotten into the lot so I worked out an agreement with the service manager so that he could get the car looked at and ready for the customer to test drive by the time that they got there. The customer ended up liking the car better than the first one and I was able to close the deal and they drove off with their new car.
