How do you build rapport with someone you've never met over DM?
I focus on being genuine and personalized rather than sounding like a cold pitch.
First, I engage with their content before DMing — liking, commenting, or referencing something specific so they know I’ve actually checked their profile.
When I DM, I keep it short and relevant, mentioning something specific about their business and starting a natural conversation instead of immediately selling.
I try to provide value early — whether it’s a quick idea, feedback, or a suggestion that could help them.
Finally, I keep the conversation friendly and consistent, following up respectfully without being pushy, which helps build trust over time.

How would you use social media to build relationships with businesses and get them excited about a brand?
I would use short-form content to highlight the product’s benefits and create demand, while actively engaging with businesses through Instagram to build real relationships. I’d also use UGC and micro-creators to build trust and social proof, making businesses more excited to partner with the brand.
I would focus on building relationships with businesses by combining content, direct outreach, and value-driven engagement.
First, I would create short-form content (Reels/TikTok) that highlights the product’s unique selling points — high protein, zero sugar, and better-for-you snacking. This would include relatable scenarios, comparison videos (vs regular candy), and behind-the-brand storytelling to build trust and excitement.
Second, I would actively engage with potential business partners (gyms, cafes, retail stores) through Instagram — commenting on their posts, resharing their content, and starting conversations in DMs to build genuine relationships rather than cold pitching.
Third, I would collaborate with micro-creators and niche communities (fitness, health, students) to create authentic UGC content that businesses can see performing in real-time. This builds social proof and makes businesses more confident in stocking or partnering with the brand.
Finally, I would showcase success stories and user feedback regularly to create a sense of demand, so businesses feel excited to be part of a growing and in-demand brand.
