"Monkey and the Engineer" by the Grateful Dead is my all-time favorite song because it’s the one my dad used to sing to me when I was little. As I got older, especially when my siblings left for college or moved away, I would sing it back to him whenever he felt sad. It became our song. Even though the lyrics are lighthearted and silly, it holds a deep and personal meaning for me.
