An example of when I went out of my way to help some who isn't an immediate friend or family member happened during my time as a tutor. I noticed a student who consistently struggled in English in group sessions but rarely spoke up or asked questions. Since this wasn't a student who I tutored 1-1 I reached out to them privately with encouragement and offered to meet 1-1 outside of the group session. We had a couple of 1-1 sessions where I helped them understand concepts in which they were struggling in which improved their English significantly. Overtime they gain confidence and even contributed to the group sessions.
