I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering with AMSAT, an organization that supports individuals with Down syndrome, where I serve as the communicator, acting as the bridge between the organization, its members, and the wider community. In that role, I’ve led awareness initiatives and organized outreach events, which involved planning timelines, delegating tasks to volunteers, coordinating logistics, and making sure communication was consistent across all levels. It taught me how to manage multiple moving parts, stay adaptable, and lead with empathy, especially when representing a mission I care deeply about. Beyond AMSAT, every major group project I’ve been part of throughout college, I’ve naturally taken on the role of project lead. Whether it was building out full presentations, managing research workflows, assigning roles, or following up to keep things on track, I’ve always gravitated toward organizing the team and making sure deadlines were met.
