One example of a successful community engagement campaign I led was the creation of a creative writing club and the planning of a year-end poetry slam event in high school. I started by promoting the club through targeted outreach, including social media posts and flyers, to attract students interested in writing and performance. To make the poetry slam engaging, I encouraged members to submit their original poems, which created excitement and a sense of ownership within the group. I also included prizes awarded to the top performers to encourage a sense of competition as well. The event itself was designed to be inclusive and welcoming, providing students from all backgrounds a platform to showcase their work and connect with others. The campaign helped build a strong sense of community, encouraged creative expression, and brought students together in a meaningful way, showcasing my ability to foster engagement and create impactful experiences.

While I have minimal experience designing and building email campaigns, I have related skills gained through a variety of roles that require creating engaging visuals and content. As an event planner for my college's Campus Activities Board, I developed communication strategies to meet the needs of the student body, which included creating promotional materials and supporting event outreach. In a global classroom project, I designed graphics using tools like Adobe Photoshop and Canva, which helped to pitch ideas and deliver presentations to an international audience. Additionally, I contributed to the development of marketing materials for high school clubs and events, which involved crafting engaging posts and visuals for social media and print, honing my skills in effectively communicating messages to diverse audiences. These experiences have equipped me with the skills necessary to design and execute compelling email campaigns that engage and inform target groups.
