Female Founder World
Content Marketing & Event Intern
What's one content area of opportunity you'd first implement after starting this position?
After starting this position, my first focus would be on increasing engagement on the company's TikTok page. Female Founder World's Instagram has an impressive number of followers; however, it appears that the TikTok account has not gained as much traction. Considering more female Gen Zers use the app than male Gen Zers, creating more engaging content could be a great opportunity for the company to gain more exposure and more effectively reach their target audience.
A couple of ideas I would love to implement after starting this position would be entrepreneur account "takeovers" in which different female business owners could record videos for the company's page sharing their best tips on what the keys to success are. Hearing these tips from the entrepreneurs themselves is not only inspiring but would encourage more engagement with the company's socials to stay connected to such a wide network of incredible women. Another idea I would implement is the creation of a series of videos that provide essential tips to young businesswomen and future business owners. For example, videos could be produced covering topics from something as simple as what to wear to work (specifying the differences between business casual, business formal, etc.) to more complex ideas like how to get started on opening up a business.

Throughout my time at Stony Brook, I have had several hands-on opportunities to broaden my knowledge in marketing. Last year, I held a public relations officer position on the executive board of my residential hall council in which I managed the building’s Instagram account and advertised the various social events that I assisted in planning. Similarly, I held the position of treasurer for another residential hall council in which I not only managed the organization’s budget but also devised various marketing strategies to promote all of the exciting activities I worked with my team to organize.
Recently, I was hired as a Marketing Team Leader for Stony Brook’s Campus Recreation Center in which I will be responsible for managing the social media presence of the entire department while creating content for its various activities and events. I will also be in charge of monitoring account analytics and revising strategies accordingly to best reach the entirety of the organization’s target audience. Through the curation of Instagram posts, flyers, and signs utilizing both Canva and Adobe programs—as well as producing live video and photographic content—I will work as a student leader of all marketing operations for one of the largest divisions of university life.
