Interview Questions
JOVA
Business Development Intern (Health Food Startup)

How do you usually keep track of tasks, follow-ups, or deadlines when things are moving fast?
When things are moving fast, I rely on a kanban board system using a tool called xTiles to stay organized. It allows me to plan and visualize tasks in different views—like timeline, board, or checklist—so I can easily track progress, manage follow-ups, and adjust priorities in real time. This flexible setup helps me stay focused, especially when juggling multiple responsibilities or coordinating with others.

Tell us about a time you helped something run more smoothly, or solved a problem on your own.
My team was working on a healthcare solution presentation for the ALX Project Team Showcase. We experienced delays in the middle of the project because of unclear coordination and overlapping tasks. I took the initiative to organize teamwork, make sure everyone understood their roles, and close communication gaps in order to optimize our workflow. In order to keep us on schedule, I also came up with the idea, directed the promotional video, and oversaw the shoot. We were able to deliver a well-executed, impactful project thanks to their efforts, and we took first place. I learned from this experience that taking initiative to address operational problems can have significant results.
