Do you have any background in video or content editing?
Yes, I do. I have hands-on experience editing short form video content for TikTok and Instagram using tools like CapCut and native in-app editors. As a content creator, I regularly edit videos by adding trending sounds, captions, text overlays, transitions, and timing edits optimized for retention and engagement. I’m comfortable adapting edits to match different brand tones, from fast paced and playful to clean and minimal, and I understand how pacing, hooks, and on screen text impact performance. I also iterate quickly based on analytics, refining edits to improve watch time, saves, and shares.

What type of content do you find performs best on TikTok and Instagram?
On TikTok and Instagram, the content that performs best is content that feels native, relatable, and human rather than overly produced or promotional. Short form videos with a strong hook in the first few seconds, trend based formats, and storytelling driven content tend to perform especially well. On TikTok, behind the scenes clips, day in the life style videos, humor, and quick educational or reaction style content drive high engagement because they feel authentic and conversational. On Instagram, especially Reels, visually appealing but still casual content, lifestyle integrations, memes, and shareable moments tend to perform best. Across both platforms, consistency, authenticity, and community interaction matter just as much as the format itself. Content that invites participation through comments, duets, or shares consistently outperforms content that feels like a traditional ad.

How do you stay on top of social media trends?
I stay on top of social media trends by being an active creator myself, not just a consumer. I run an influencer TikTok account called @soltanaslife, where I regularly track trending sounds, formats, memes, and engagement patterns in real time. Creating content forces me to pay close attention to what is gaining traction, how quickly trends evolve, and which ones feel authentic versus overused. I also use platform analytics and daily scrolling with intention, saving trending audios, monitoring competitor and creator accounts, and observing how trends shift across TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter/X. By testing trends on my own account and analyzing performance, I can quickly adapt what works into brand appropriate content that feels timely, relatable, and organic rather than forced.
