In a given week, your responsibilities range from updating financial models, to scheduling with external partners, to tracking inventory movement, to prepping decks for a marketing meeting. How do you prioritize and execute when everything is urgent?
My main method of staying organized is by creating a list of tasks that need to be accomplished in a given week, while assigning deadlines and priority to the tasks that require more attention. I focus on completing the more challenging, time-sensitive, or demanding tasks first before moving on to the tasks that don't require as much time to be allocated for their completion. When everything is urgent, I would follow the same approach, focusing on completing the task that I find most challenging and moving through the rest based on a similar level of complexity and impact.

Tell us about a time when maintaining accurate data was crucial to your role. How did you ensure the data stayed clean, up to date, and aligned across systems or teams?
While working as a research assistant at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, I analyzed over 800 employee survey responses for a project on DEI initiatives and employee engagement. Ensuring accurate and consistent data was essential to identify meaningful trends. I cleaned and standardized qualitative responses, categorized them using a consistent coding framework, and cross-validated findings with the research team to ensure alignment. This approach helped me deliver actionable insights on improving program effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Walk us through a time when you built or managed a complex spreadsheet system to track operational or financial data.
I am currently working on a project that tracks trading behavior by fund managers for a study on gender dynamics in fixed-income portfolio management. I am manually matching fund manager names and trade records, accounting for inconsistencies in spelling, titles, and firm affiliations, and organizing the cleaned data into a consolidated spreadsheet. I am keeping my analysis organized by focusing on distinctive factors of the data, such as fund IDs, entity names, and firm IDs.
