How do you identify if a TikTok video has viral potential?

A TikTok video has viral potential when it grabs attention in the first 1–2 seconds with a strong hook and keeps viewers watching to the end. Early engagement especially comments, shares, and a high like to view ratio is one of the strongest predictors that the algorithm will push it further. Videos that tap into trending sounds, formats, or relatable niche communities tend to perform even better. Emotion also plays a major role, if a video makes people laugh, feel surprised, or deeply relate, they’re more likely to share it. Overall, high retention, strong early interaction, and a compelling or surprising moment are the clearest signs a TikTok video can go viral.
