What organizations are you involved in on campus?

I am involved in a few different organizations on campus like UNICEF at Baruch and ALPHA that have really shaped how I connect with people and show up in my community. I am part of a student organization focused on professional development which has helped me build relationships across different majors and class years. I am also involved in a club centered around something I am genuinely passionate about outside of academics which has introduced me to a really tight knit group of people I would not have met otherwise. On top of that I stay connected to my residence community and have been someone people come to when they need information or want to get plugged into something new. Being involved in multiple spaces has given me a pretty wide reach on campus across different social circles which I think is a real asset for a role like this. I am not just known in one corner of campus and that means when I share an opportunity like SchoolScoops it has the potential to travel across a lot of different networks at once.

What strategies do you use to connect with your campus community?

I stay connected to my campus community by being genuinely present both online and in person. On campus I make it a point to show up consistently whether that is at club meetings, events, or just being a familiar face in the spaces where students naturally gather like the dining hall, the gym, or common areas. I have found that just being around and being approachable goes a long way because people remember you and are more likely to engage when they feel like they actually know you. On the digital side I stay active in the group chats, student org pages, and social media spaces where my campus community lives. I use my own platforms to share things that are relevant and useful to the people around me, whether that is opportunities, events, or just content that resonates with the student experience. Over time that consistency builds a level of trust where people naturally come to me or share things I post because they know I am plugged in and that what I share is worth their attention. I also think genuine relationship building is the most underrated strategy. I do not just reach out to people when I need something. I check in, make introductions, and try to add value to the people in my network regularly. That kind of authentic connection is what makes people actually want to help you spread a message when the time comes, and it is what I would bring to promoting SchoolScoops on campus.

How would you promote a job opportunity to students?

I would promote it by meeting students where they already are, both online and in person. On the digital side I would post in the most active Stanford Facebook groups, Reddit threads, GroupMe chats, and Discord servers where students are already talking about jobs, internships, and campus life. I would keep the messaging short and punchy, leading with the most attention grabbing details first which in this case is the $40 an hour and the fully flexible schedule, because those two things alone are going to stop a college student mid scroll. I would also use my own Instagram and TikTok to create casual, relatable content around the opportunity so it feels like a friend putting someone on rather than a formal job posting. In person I would hit high traffic spots like the main dining halls, the library during midterms and finals when students are actively thinking about money, and popular study spots around campus. I would also tap into student org group chats and attend club meetings to spread the word directly because a personal recommendation in a trusted space always converts better than a flyer. The combination of digital reach and genuine in person conversations is what I think would get us to 15 students and honestly well beyond that.
