I’m a 2nd-year Banking and Finance student who is curious, thoughtful, and a bit of an overthinker (in a good way) because I like understanding both the numbers and the people behind them.

what does wealth mean to you? (no wrong answers!)

Wealth to me means freedom and independence, basically living life on my own terms.

share how you'd encourage students to save and plan for long-term wealth.

Most students graduate knowing how to write essays, but not how to manage debt. Financial literacy is what protects your freedom. Without savings, you don’t just lack money; you also lack optionality. You lose the ability to say no. You stay in toxic workplaces, unhealthy environments, or stressful situations longer than you should because you feel financially trapped. Long-term saving isn’t just about wealth. It’s about autonomy. It’s about reducing stress and anxiety. It’s about giving yourself the power to walk away when something no longer serves you. Money won’t solve everything, but financial security gives you space, clarity, and choice. And choice is freedom.

What part(s) of personal finance do you think every student should know?

As a student, I think it is important to have a good understanding of budgeting and managing your income and expenses, as well as knowledge about debt and credit, including student loans and credit cards. It is also important to start saving money for future emergencies. Investing small amounts of extra cash can also help.
