Interview Questions
The V Curls
UGC Content Creator for The V Curls

How do you ensure your content feels authentic and relatable?
My rule is, if I can't find a genuine entry point into the product or story, I look harder until I do. For curly hair content specifically, I don't have to look very hard; I have years of lived experience with products that overpromised and hair that was made to feel like a problem. That history shows up naturally in how I talk about things that actually work. Beyond that, I keep production intentionally imperfect: real lighting, real reactions. Audiences in the beauty space have a finely tuned radar for content that was scripted vs. that came from someone's actual life.

What makes user-generated content effective for a beauty brand?
Real people trust real people waymore than they trust advertising. In the beauty space specifically, where results vary wildly by hair type, skin tone, and texture, seeing someone who actually looks like you using a product carries more weight than any polished campaign could. For a curl-focused brand like The V Curls, that authenticity is everything.
Painterland Sisters
Spring Break, But Make It Nourishing

what do you like about painterland sisters?
That this is a genuine family farm and not a wellness startup that just slapped “organic” on the label. The regenerative farming approach matters because it goes beyond doing less harm and it’s about actively restoring the land. That makes it much easier to talk about in a way that feels honest, rather than like I’m trying to oversell. The fact that it’s sisters-led and family-run adds a layer of authenticity that people are naturally drawn to. Audiences are increasingly skeptical of big, faceless brands trying to manufacture values.
