I am the social media manager for the official fencing team of the University of Cape Town. I utilize the social media as a form of marketing for the team to gain sponsors and interested students who might want to join. Therefore, success is determined when people reach out to me for partnerships in sports gear and funding for the team as well as students reaching out to gain more information on the team. Success is also determined when the followers of the page find the content engaging, fun, interesting, and engaging. Social media is a powerful tool for marketing and bringing different people of all ethnicities and nationalities together.
