The key to incentivizing and persuading my peers to enter a secret Hulu contest is by leaning into the excitement of exclusivity. Everyone loves being in on a secret. I would emphasize the contest as an opportunity to be part of something that’s happening before anyone else knows about it, and tie this to the pride students already have in being trendsetters. On my personal social platforms, I would create engaging visuals that build curiosity and reveal just enough to keep students wanting to know more. 

On campus, I’d spark energy through places where students gather. Here at Yale, students enjoy gathering on Cross Campus, our green area crossed to get through class. As a film student, I am involved in many creative circles, and can see myself collaborating with the film department or smaller organizations like the Yale Student Film Festival and The Cinemat to generate excitement about this new project. In the past, we have had production companies do advance screenings or hand out merch of new releases and it has attracted Yalies of all interests and disciplines, so I am confident they will be just as excited about Hulu’s new project!

My approach would balance digital buzz with personal connections, using social media to amplify the hype while making the campaign feel like an exclusive event among friends. By making Hulu’s secret contest feel both exciting and accessible, I can get my peers genuinely curious and eager to participate.
