Wants and Needs brand does it really well right now. Strong hooks, they build tension throughout the whole video instead of front loading everything, and they're really good at plugging into trending formats and viral references without it feeling forced. Feels intentional.

What's an editing style you think is overused?
The YouTube Shorts brain rot style, meme captions everywhere, the same 5 sound effects on loop, Minecraft parkour in the corner. It was funny for like a week.

What are your go-to editing techniques to make a video more engaging?
Leading with a hook that creates an open loop in the first two seconds so the viewer needs to keep watching to close it. Pacing that matches the emotional tone, faster when energy is high, slower when something needs to land. Sound design is underrated too, a well placed subtle sound effect does more than most people realize. And always editing for sound-off viewers with captions that feel native not just auto-generated.
