What creators or brands do you think have really strong content right now?
I think Duolingo has especially strong content right now because they understand how to make brand content feel native to TikTok instead of overly corporate. Their posts are funny, trend-aware, and consistent, while still keeping a recognizable brand identity. One ad that stood out to me recently was an ice skating-themed ad because it combined strong visuals, humor, and fast-paced editing in a way that felt engaging and very shareable online. I like content that balances entertainment with clear branding without feeling forced

What are your go-to editing techniques to make a video more engaging?
My go-to editing techniques focus on keeping attention while still making the content feel natural and easy to follow. I like using strong hooks in the first few seconds, fast pacing without making it feel overwhelming, and clean captioning to emphasize key moments. I also use jump cuts to remove dead space, music and sound design to maintain energy, and pattern interrupts like zooms, angle changes, or visual overlays when they actually support the content. Another thing I focus on is storytelling, making sure there’s a clear flow so viewers stay interested all the way through. I think the best edits are the ones where the audience stays engaged without feeling distracted by the editing itself.

What's an editing style you think is overused?
One editing style I think has become a bit overused is extremely fast-cut editing where every second has a zoom, subtitle animation, sound effect, or transition. It definitely works for grabbing attention, but a lot of content starts to feel identical and overly optimized for retention instead of authenticity. I think audiences are starting to respond more to creators who balance engaging edits with personality and storytelling. Simpler editing can sometimes feel more genuine and make the content stand out more because it gives viewers space to connect with the creator instead of being overloaded with effects.
