As someone who is very passionate about personal health, I use sunscreen on my face every day, and on my body when I am going to be in the sun for extended periods of time. People in my family are prone to skin cancer and once I found this out I became determined to make sure that my family all wore sunscreen to prevent future health problems. This part of my routine is now follow by multiple family members and friends after having conversations with them about skin cancer and the risks we take living in an area with high sun exposure. I feel this is especially important as a person of color in a community with other people of other who neglect sun care because they have been lead to believe they do not need it. Regardless of skin color, I have been able to convince many people in my life to regularly use sunscreen to ensure a healthier future!
