What experience do you have working with brand ambassadors or influencers?

I currently do not have direct experience working with brand ambassadors or influencers, but I am eager to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in the industry. As a marketing major with a background in retail sales, I understand the importance of deep brand knowledge and creating meaningful connections with consumers. Delivering exceptional customer service requires understanding consumer behavior and recognizing how audiences perceive and engage with a brand. I also have a strong passion for pop culture and enjoy staying up to date on emerging trends and conversations that shape consumer interests. I am confident I could contribute positively in this role while also learning from experienced industry professionals and continuing to grow within the field.

Tell us about your experience in sales, and why you want to work for our brand to help us grow!

I have been working in Sales since I was 14, and it has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. It has taught me how important working as part of a functional team is to achieving a goal. It takes clear communication and drive. I enjoy learning new perspectives and finding ways to uplift those who are overlooked. Across all my jobs, I value community and open conversation. I have always found comfort in the art of fashion. Coming from humble beginnings, I saw clothing as a way my elders in my family expressed themselves, regardless of the brand. From textures and shapes to shades, each element plays a role in evoking feelings. Exploring consumer behavior in sales is my passion. I am also a member of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, Iota Rho Chapter at Howard University. We stand on the pillars of Brotherhood, Service, Scholarship, and Professionalism. I currently hold the position of brand manager on our executive board. My brotherhood helped me find my confidence in a foreign environment while also opening doors for me. The pride I have for my chapter is timeless, and I actively pour into it every day. With my role, I value brands that maintain consistency throughout, and I understand that comes through strategic planning. Bringing this same mindset to a brand like Couture would be amazing because it sits at the intersection of my two worlds. I understand being a student who is passionate about our purpose and helping those around us. And while helping others uplift their lives, I believe it's important to look and feel the part when representing in fly gear.

Describe a time you successfully followed up to close a sale.

While working as a retail sales associate, a large portion of the job involves not only excelling at customer service but also selling the loyalty program to customers to encourage repeat visits. Working under Gap brands, I have had many experiences tending to customers throughout their shopping experience. Learning how to be personable and read an individual has gotten me credit cards on the board. It's an uncomfortable conversation talking about credit with a stranger, but if you learn how to read a conversation and slide in the direct benefits, you have a chance to score. With the correct pacing, I have enrolled credit cards in the dressing room to the register. It took consistency and knowledge of the product, and the result is always very rewarding.
